Milo is back from the vets, and he’s whimpering and unsettled, his bounce is gone and he is still groggy from the surgery. I’ve let him join his ”pack” and so far the only nusiance to his wounds is his brother, Ripley. So I have to keep a constant watch to make sure he doesn’t get near the wounds for the first 7-10 days, giving it a good chance to close up.
He has a stitch in his ear and a stitch on his flank, both left side, and had alot of bloods taken. The vets said they’ll contact us when we get results, in mean time just monitor Milo’s recovery (obviously, 4 dogs all have been to the vet for surgery different times, this situation isn’t any different :B)
He’s not wearing the collar as I never got one, the vets think he won’t bother his wounds much, but if he does I need to ring them and get a collar - So far it’s just been Ripley who’s been at his wounds, Sandy only sniffed them but she knows not to bother them. I gave Milo a scrambled-egg supper (it’s light and helps dogs when they don’t feel well).
Milo should be his hyper-bouncy self after 48 hours at least. :U
As for Tucker, he’ll be going in soon. His symptoms vanished but I’m not pretending they didn’t happen, so he’s still getting a vet. I’d have put Milo and Tucker in the crate together but Tucker doesn’t agree with the other dogs so it would have just been stressful for them both :|
Sandy and Ripley, thankfully are fine. I’ve been checking Sandy’s mammaries every time she lets me pet her tummy, and thankfully no new lumps have appeared. She hasn’t lost her weight either so that’s also a good sign, so far, she’s cancer-free :)
Pet care is so expensive, but it’s so worth it .-. ♥
